Spa Massage Tips (ⅰ)
Here are tips on how to get the maximize benefit from your massage.
1. Be receptive and open to the experience and trust in the professionalism of the therapist
2. Don’t eat a heavy meal just before a massage session.
3. Be on time. If you arrive in a frenzied Rushed state, it will take longer to relax.
4. Arrive early to take advantage of a sauna, steam bath or hot tub, which will warm your muscles and make it easier for the therapist to achieve results. If the hot tub has chlorinated water, be sure and shower before your massage.
5. Most massage takes place nude but you are fully draped at all times. If you do not want to remove all your clothing, wear clothing that you will be comfortable wearing during the massage and will allow the massage therapist to touch and move the areas of your body you expect will need to be worked on.
6. Good communication is important.
7. Before the session, Let your massage therapist know what your needs are. During the massage session, report any discomfort, whether it is from the massage or anything else—room temperature, music volume, lighting, SPA equipment setting etc. Feel free to give feedback on the amount of pressure, speed of movement, etc.
8. Don’t be afraid to discuss any apprehensions or concerns. Your massage therapist is a professional dedicated to do his or her best to help you feel at ease.

7. Beauty treatments
Some Spas, in addition to massages and body treatments, provide a full range of beauty services including facials, hair styling, and manicures and waxing. A nice feature in service-oriented Thailand is that these are often done with a SPA-level of care. A haircut, for example, is often not just a haircut –you may get a head and neck massage while your hair is being washed, or before and after the cutting.
⑴ Body scrubs and wraps
A number of treatments including body scrubs and wraps are done to help exfoliate, moisturize and freshen up the skin. Natural products such as turmeric, aloe, honey, kefirs lime, tropical fruits, mud, oils or sea salt are applied, with blends often specially prepared to suit one’s skin condition (dry, oily, sunburned, etc).

Thai massage has been an integral part of traditional Thai medicine for at least 2,500 years. Derived from a blend of Ayurvedic and Chinese healing influences, Thai massage is a technique that aims to balance energy in the body.
In a typical two-hour session, the masseuse will guide stretching movements similar to yoga postures and also apply pressure to points along the body using the hands, thumbs, forearms, elbows, knees and feet. These pressure points are believed to be connected to energy channels that run through the body. Massaging them will help remove balance and health in the body. A Thai massage session can help increase flexibility, provide relief to tense muscles and joints, and give one a feeling of refreshment and renewal.
